Breaking News!!!!

October 4th - We're in Massachusetts touring and enjoying the fall colors. Unfortunately we won't be picking the bus up this time out but we'll be back on the East Coast in December to get it.

We have been invited to participate in Daniel Pearl World Music Days which commemorates the work of Daniel Pearl, the journalist and musician who was killed by extremists in Pakistan. He was a classically trained violinist and played fiddle and mandolin as well. He would bring his music with him when he traveled and always joined music groups wherever he went. We are dedicating our October concerts to his memory in the hope that we can help create "Harmony for Humanity", part of the mission of the organization. Please check out their website for more information about concerts in your area as well as the other incredibly talented musicians who are participating, and feel free to join in and participate yourself.

September 5th - Gettin' ready for the Games. This coming weekend is the Long's Peak Scottish/Irish Highland Festival and Scottish Games in Estes Park, CO. We are pleased to be part of this event for the full weekend and hope to see many of you there. We'll have Patricia Irby and Deborah Switzer performing with us as well as a fabulous support staff to help with product sales. We'll be unveiling the new DVD as well as having our wonderful Muses Hoodies in stock for the very first time! (They've been special order only up until now.) Strap your kilt on, pull up your hose and let's have some good craic! (That's fun in Gaelic.)

September 2nd - The DVD Has Arrived!!! We finally have the DVD in our hot little hands! So if you'd like to own the companion piece to "The Muses - Live!" album, we now have it available for sale. It will be at all future concerts and will be up on line shortly. (Please let us get through this weekend!)

August 28th - Photos of progress on the Bus!!! If you'd like to see how things are going with the bus, Click Here to visit our photo gallery in our Facebook Group.

A Fun Muses Contest!!!!

October 9th -  Matt has made a paper model of our new bus, and set up a template which you may download here to make your very own! Click Here to download it in Adobe Acrobat Reader (If you don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader, Click Here to get it)
Once you have done that, if you have some ideas for how we should decorate the exterior then decorate your paper model and send pictures to us. The best submission will get a t-shirt and CD of your choice (well one of ours preferably hehe) for your time and creativity!
So... download your PDF version (it’s set up for 11”X17” but you can print it smaller as well), print it out, and build it... then get to decorating, and we look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Sunday September 29th - Well, we just finished our Northeast tour and regrettfully we have to say goodbye to Annie, at least for touring. Annie will continue to book libraries for The Muses (which she enjoys) and to play with us while we're in town as a side person if we need her. However her duties to her family are very hard for her to manage while she is away and so she has made the decision to become a background Muse. Therefore we are looking once again for a new band member! If you know of anyone who is interested in touring full time with a professional Celtic band, please let us know! The position information is as follows:

Traditional Celtic band, The Muses, are looking for a new member, starting immediately. Multi-instrumentalist/vocalist or fiddler/vocalist a plus. Singing and at least 1 instrument required. THIS IS A FULL TIME NATIONAL TOURING JOB!!!! 6-9 months on the road per year, plus rehearsals, booking/administrative duties etc. all in close quarters. Serious inquiries only please. This job requires you to be away from home up to 8 weeks at a time. 1 Year commitment required after trial tour. No drugs, no smoking, no exceptions. If you're allergic to cats and dogs, please let us know as we do have them. Please check out www.themusesmusic.com BEFORE contacting us to see if you like what we're doing and might fit. Band is Colorado based. All tours start and end in Colorado. Your base is up to you. You're welcome to relocate if you wish. Contact us ASAP for auditions or call 877-384-3936

Monday August 6th 2007 - The Muses are looking for Sponsorship! Yes, to pay for this wonderful new bus as well as to continue our happy job of bringing music to libraries large and small across the country, we are going to need some help. We are looking for sponsors to help us continue with these endeavours. Please check out our Sponsorship Information Page for more information about how you can help The Muses and we can help you. Sponsorships range from $500-$50,000 and include everything from advertising on our website, emails, your logo on the back of the bus, a concert from The Muses, even tickets to our first fan tour to Scotland or Ireland (within the next couple of years). Please take a look and let us know if this is a good advertising option for you or your company.

Wednesday June 13th 2007 - "The CDs are here! The CDs are here!" That's the message that greeted Becky, our manager after I found 12 boxes sitting in our garage this afternoon! "The Muses - Live" has arrived and we are incredibly excited to present it to you! Check it out here! Produced by the amazing Kelly Wohlford of Longview Farm Studios, recorded in front of a live audience at Immersive Studios and mastered at Airshow Mastering , both in Boulder, CO, this album is what you, our fans, have been asking for for a while now. An album that sounds like your performances. Well, we've done it and we're darn pleased. We hope you will be too. We are joined on stage by the amazing Ms. Michi Regier, fiddler extrordinaire and our faithful side-woman. We had a lot of fun and we hope you will enjoy listening to this album as much as we enjoyed making it. Right now it is only available at our shows and here for purchase. We'll get it out to CDBaby ASAP. We'll also let you know when it is available for Digital Download.

Wednesday June 6th 2007 - We've had to say Bye-Bye to Becca as she heads off on her new adventure of being an elementary school teacher with Teach for America. Taking her place will be Annie Mariner, formerly of the Whirly Jig Minstrels. More information on Annie as it develops

Thursday May 24th 2007 - The Muses have purchased a new tour bus! Click here for pictures Yes, we've finally done it (again). We have purchased an emtpy shell (meaning it used to be a passenger bus and now they have torn all the seats out of it) which will be converted into the fabulous new Muse-Mobile (name to follow.) Because of this we are looking for sponsorship opportunities, so if you or your company would like your name on the back of a Prevost H3-40 (very cool spiffy looking bus) along with The Muses logo to be seen rolling down the highway by hundreds of thousands of people, please let us know.
